Repairs and rewraps

A broken rod is not a dead rod

Most of what ends up in the garage could be fishing again inside a couple of weeks. Bring it in and find out which.

What comes in

Any brand, not just ours

The bench that builds a custom rod is the same bench that fixes one. If it is a rod and it is broken, send us a photo before you write it off.

A blank on the wrapper, pink and teal thread already laid over the guide feet, spools and tools on the bench behind
  • Broken tips

New tip top fitted and blended so the rod keeps its action.

  • Guide replacement

Cracked ring or bent frame swapped and rewrapped to match the rest of the rod.

  • Full rewraps

Every wrap stripped and laid again. A good way to bring an older rod back, or change its colors entirely.

  • Refinishing

Tired, yellowed or chipped epoxy taken back and re-coated.

  • Grip and seat work

Worn EVA or cork replaced, loose or corroded reel seats renewed.

  • Inherited rods

Older and sentimental rods brought back to fishing condition rather than retired.

How to send it in

Three steps

  1. 01

    Photograph the damage

One shot of the whole rod and one close up of the break, the guide or the wrap in question. Include the make and model if you know it.

  2. 02

    Send it over

Message the photos through the contact form, by email, or as a DM on Instagram. You will get an estimate and a rough turnaround back.

  3. 03

Drop it off or ship it

Cape Coral locals can bring the rod straight to the shop. You can also leave it at DnD Bait and Tackle and it comes back to the bench on our weekly pickup. Everyone else ships it in, but ask us first so it gets packed the right way.

Easiest option if you are local

DnD Bait and Tackle

Leave a rod there and it comes back to the bench on the weekly pickup.

PickupsOnce a week

Send us a photo of the break

You will get a straight answer on whether it is worth fixing, what it costs, and how long it takes.
